Principles of healthy wheelchair sitting
Seminar of theoretical and practical summary of the pathologies of sitting in a wheelchair for all diagnoses and demonstration of their correction by means of the Libella Seat Varia anti-inflammatory seat cushion.
Who is the seminar for?
- Occupational therapists, physiotherapists, doctors and other medical staff,
- social workers interested in the issue of healthy seating solutions for people in wheelchairs,
- students of occupational therapy, physiotherapy and other health care disciplines,
- people in wheelchairs or their family members.
What is the aim of this seminar?
The purpose is to introduce the basic theoretical knowledge and practical demonstrations of the principles of healthy sitting in a wheelchair. On the basis of the seminar and possible consultations with our occupational therapists, the graduate should be able to better assess the posture of sitting in a wheelchair, recognize possible pathologies of sitting and their causes. The seminar includes a demonstration of examination procedures and work with preassure mapping. The graduate will be introduced to the different types of anti-wheelchair seating on the market. The second part of the course is then dedicated in depth to the Libella Seat Varia anti-subluxation seat, its specification, materials, function and use for clients with various diagnoses with the need to address incorrect pelvic posture, including a practical demonstration with a specific client.
Who will take you through the seminar?
Program
Morning theoretical part (9:00 - 12:00)
will be devoted to the most common pathologies, their causes and consequences, including diagnosis, evaluation of pathologies and the use of objective instrumental techniques of pressure mapping.
Afternoon practical session (13:00 - 16:00)
will take place in the form of a workshop with case studies, demonstrations of specific focuses and solutions for correction with the Libella Seat Varia anti-cubic seat.
Seminar venue
The seminar is usually held in the Libella Showroom in Prague or in the Paraple Centre in Prague - Malešice, depending on the number of participants. If necessary, we can also hold the seminar in your facility, provided that the increased minimum capacity (20 participants) is met and a manikin (wheelchair user) is provided for the afternoon workshop. The total price for the workshop is then subject to the addition of travel costs.

We offer the purchase of a trial version of the Libella Seat Varia at a discounted price to graduates of the seminar for demonstration and presentation to clients.
The seminar is followed by a two-day course certified by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic, Correction of Pelvic Pathologies, where the graduate will deepen both the theoretical knowledge of the treatment of pelvic pathologies and especially the detailed knowledge of the Libella Seat Varia corrective anti-inflammatory seat system, including practical work with this system. Only a graduate of this course can then work with the system independently.
